Our Passion
At Sheepscot Snug Stays LLC, our mission is to offer guests a simple, comfortable, and sustainable stay in the heart of Maine’s midcoast. Whether you’re seeking a quiet retreat or a base for local adventures, we combine thoughtful design, eco-conscious living, and warm hospitality.
Our Story
Sheepscot Snug Stays was born out of equal parts grit, love, and sheer stubbornness.
Picture this: Rachel and I, knee-deep in the Maine woods, trying to maneuver a 40-foot shipping container into place while a goat escaped through the fence we swore was secure just the day before. Tempers flared, coffee ran out, and the kind of colorful language that shouldn’t echo through pine trees… did.
But here’s the thing — those chaotic, messy, hilarious and sometimes downright scary moments are what make this dream real. Every shipping container wrestled into position, every goat rounded up, and every late-night planning session at the kitchen table has brought us closer to creating something special.
At Sheepscot Snug Stays, we’re not just offering a bed for the night — we’re inviting you into the story. A story of two people (and eventually a whole community) learning to laugh through setbacks, cherish the quiet victories, and build a life rooted in Maine’s wild beauty.
Come stay with us, and you won’t just find comfort and simplicity — you’ll become part of the ongoing adventure.
